My probation period of my driver’s license is over, I’ve had my license since 09/05/2014. I can finally get some points on it (not that I want to lol).

Congrats! How does that work in Germany? Here in the Netherlands we have a lower alcohol limit for the first 5 years after obtaining your license and you can get your license suspended after 2 or 3 points.

Thanks! In the first two years you’re nit allowed to get any points on your license but if you do, you have to attend a course in which your psychological abilities to operate a motor vehicles are examined. Alcohol isn’t allowed under 21 years old. That course is called “Medizinisch Psychologische Untersuchung” or just “Idiotentest” - idiot’s test and costs 400,-.

That’s a pricey one, though to be honest I you just behave normal you probably won’t get points anyway.

For the first 5 years out blood alcohol content limit is 0,2‰, whereas it is 0,5‰ afterwards. This corresponds to 1 or 2 glasses of beer(our small ones 0,3 l, not your large ones). Due to this most people I know, myself included, just don’t drink and drive, because you really shouldn’t.

Two years? Wow. I’ve only had one points-generating incident (USA) in 20 years, and that was a speeding ticket (41 in 25 mph zone) in my 3rd or 4th year.

Most people I know my age say that I tend to drive like an old person but that won’t get me into much trouble. DUI is a no go for me, as is driving after drinking the night before. I also don’t have the bad habit of constantly looking on my phone while driving. I hate when my friends do that.

No points in your first 2 years?! You’re (were?) allowed 8 points your first two years then 12 after that. I was 8 points when I was 16 .... and uh, I’m still at 8 points 10 years later.

I’ve never done anything too illegal to generate points so far, I hope it will stay this way.

Not in Germany haha. You’re not allowed to have any points in the first two years! After those two years you can get up to eight points and then you have to turn in your license.

Haha, sounds familiar, only my mom thinks I drive too fast.

DUI is a no go indeed. I agree on driving the day after a night of drinking, I don’t do that either.

Haha, my mother is the same way, even when I’m just adapting speed to match with the other trafic. I got to admit that I only drove once with some alcohol in my blond from a night before but won’t do it ever again, it felt just wrong.
